Thanks to the showcase offered by the Annapurna Showcase that aired tonight, developer Matt Newell announced the release date of Lushfoil Photography Sim, an exploration and photography simulator made in Unreal Engine 5.
The game will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S starting April 15, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer that presents some of the meticulously curated and evocative environments that we will be exploring and that you can view in the player below.
What is Lushfoil Photography Sim
Lushfoil Photography Sim is a first-person photography simulator, which allows you to experience faithful recreations of beautiful and diverse locations around the world. For example, in today’s video we saw the landscapes of South Tyrol, the French Alps, Southwest Australia, the mountains of Kyoto and much more.
According to the author, players will be able to immerse themselves in these locations created with great care in Unreal Engine 5 and take photos based on their inspiration. There will also be objectives to complete if you want, but they are secondary to the experience, which aims to offer maximum freedom.
As you would expect from a photography simulator, the player’s camera includes numerous options typical of professional ones. Settings such as auto/manual focus, flash, exposure, contrast, white balance, aperture, continuous shooting and more are recreated to ensure full creative control over the photography. In addition, the game provides a series of tools for manipulating environmental conditions to benefit the photos, such as manually setting the light angle and fog, snow, wind and rain.
