Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an evolution of the gameplay formula of the most recent chapters of the Ubisoft saga, but it also offers a mechanic from the old games, if you want to activate it.
Let’s talk about the ability to eliminate enemies with a single hit in the event of a stealth attack. Confirmation comes from Ubisoft.
The assassination function in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
In case you don’t know, in the games before Origins it was normal, if the enemy hadn’t seen us yet, to attack him with the hidden blade and take him out with a single hit (from behind, jumping from a high point, hanging from a ledge…). However, in moving from an action-adventure to an open-map role-playing game, this ability was lost in order to give greater value to the character’s statistics and the enemies’ life bar.
It should be noted that this function of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is not new even for modern games. Valhalla already allowed you to activate an option from the menu to enable the ability. The same will happen with Shadows.
Ubisoft writes: “In the game options you can activate the ‘one-hit assassination’ function, which allows you to assassinate all enemies regardless of their health bar.”
If you do not activate it, the damage will depend on elements such as equipment, acquired skills and more. The result of the assassination is indicated by colors: if the bar is white it means that the opponent will be eliminated in one hit, if it is yellow you will do non-fatal damage, if it is red the shot will be blocked. Some enemies are designed not to be able to take a stealth hit, for reasons of narrative or design.
We also report that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is in trouble: a video shows the destruction of a sanctuary and officials are protesting.
