In the last few days Bandai Namco has registered Once Upon a Katamari and Gekishin Squadra: the first of the two trademarks was filed on February 27 in Europe, while the second dates back to February 14 and is valid for both Europe and the USA.
Generally, the Japanese publisher carries out operations of this type shortly before an official announcement, so there is a possibility that we will soon find out what these titles are linked to, but it is clear that Once Upon a Katamari will mark the return of the famous series.
Considering that the last game belonging to the franchise was the remaster Reroll, there is a concrete probability that the trademark refers to a new and unreleased chapter, the first since Touch My Katamari, released on PlayStation Vita in 2011.
What is Gekishin Squadra hiding instead?
A few hours after the Dragon Ball Daima DLC trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Bandai Namco could be preparing to launch a new project linked to Akira Toriyama’s work with this mysterious Gekishin Squadra, even if the issue is actually thorny.

According to what was reported by Gematsu, the trademark recalls Dragon Ball Z 2: Gekishin Freeza, released on NES in 1991, but there is no certainty that there is actually a connection with Dragon Ball.
As mentioned, the publisher usually follows up these registrations with official announcements, so we are waiting for updates on the matter.
