Probably also thanks to the success of Monster Hunter Wilds and the series in general, Capcom has decided to promote Ryozo Tsujimoto to the role of Chief Product Officer and effectively lead the video game development divisions.
The Osaka publisher has announced several internal changes in a general reorganization of various areas, and among these is also the new role entrusted to Tsujimoto, who from producer will now find himself having to follow many more aspects of Capcom, being in fact responsible for the development divisions.
The change will be active starting from April 1, 2025, when the other internal moves and revisions will also take place, therefore with several changes expected within Capcom starting from next month.
Tsujimoto’s career
Tsujimoto joined Capcom in 1996, after university, and started with the section dedicated to arcade games such as Battle Circuit and Tech Romance, to then start his career above all with his work on Monster Hunter, a series to which he dedicated himself from the beginning.
He was initially a designer on the first chapter of the series on PS2 and Monster Hunter Freedom for PSP, later becoming a producer for Monster Hunter Tri, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
From then on he has always covered the role of producer or executive producer for all the major Monster Hunter games, including the recent Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds, thus contributing to the enormous success of the series that has had great importance for the performance of Capcom in general.
Probably not even the fact that he is the son of Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto and brother of the president and COO, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, has hurt, but it certainly cannot be said that he has not given his practical contribution to the evolution of the company.
