The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is looking to hit that same vibe as Kazutaka Kodaka’s past work with the Danganronpa series. While his work has always been about high schoolers dealing with death games, the involvement of Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape, AI: The Somnium Files) in the writing team makes me wonder about the possibilities between these two developers.
This latest trailer showcases all the intrigue and murder. And if you want, there’s a demo to get a taste of what’s to come!
Put on your theory hats and watch the story trailer below:
Along with the new trailer, publisher XSEED Games revealed a demo is now available on Steam! The demo allows you to experience the first seven days at the school, with the ability to carry over your save data to the full game. A Switch demo isn’t available yet, but the new trailer did state a demo will be available there at a later date.
XSEED is releasing two physical editions in the Americas: a standard edition for $59.99 USD and a limited edition for $99.99. The latter includes the following:
- Nintendo Switch copy of the game
- Art book with work by Rui Komatsuzaki and simadoriru
- CD soundtrack with 10 songs from the original score
- Acrylic diorama featuring the main cast
- Metal Last Defense Academy pin
- Lenticular art card
- Printed copy of an original The Hundred Line short novel
- 15 character art cards
Both versions can be ordered from the Marvelous USA website. Aniplex will publish the Steam version, as well as the Switch version outside of America. The Steam version, preorders for which will start soon, has a Digital Deluxe Edition with an artbook and soundtrack at $69.99.
