Stardew Valley Creator Is Ashamed of What Happened With Nintendo Switch Update

Stardew Valley creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has warned fans that the recently released 1.6.15.1 patch for the Nintendo Switch game was accidentally distributed with some issues that can cause crashes.

Barone released the patch a few days ago to celebrate Stardew Valley’s ninth anniversary. The patch mostly brought fixes and a few new Easter eggs to the evergreen farming sim, but Barone says it also contains some annoying bugs.

Barone’s thoughts on Stardew Valley for Switch

“I’m very embarrassed to say this, but there is an error in the recent Switch patch,” Barone said in a recent post online. “The game is mostly playable, but there are some crashes and some text will be garbled.” Barone also warned Switch players to avoid artifacts and the back room in the adventure guild. “We’re working on another patch as quickly as we can.”

Barone’s message sounds quite dramatic because Stardew Valley has sold almost 8 million copies on Nintendo Switch alone – and a whopping 41 million copies across all platforms – so it’s more than likely that a lot of people are having issues with their hybrid console.

It should also be said that Barone has earned a lot of trust over the years thanks to his calm manner and great desire to introduce new things for free, so we think the public will forgive him for an oversight every now and then. Of course, he could also hurry up with the work on Haunted Chocolatier!
